A New Student Teacher In Ms. Iten's Third Grade

By Olivia

On March 2, 2009, a TU college student teacher came to St. Pius. Her name is Miss Oberste. She will stay for two months. Her favorite color is blue and her favorite candy is M&M's. She went to school here and was in 8th grade when Ms. Iten taught her sister Maggie. She is nice and pretty. We all love her.

Lent

By Cade

For Religion class we are doing a project about Jesus. Each person in our class put a thorn in his crown. If we do a good thing, we can take out a thorn. We want to take out all the thorns before Easter.

Project Linus

By Estefania

Project Linus was so fun, we got to sew, cut, and tie. We made twenty-one blankets. Each of us got to make at least one or two blankets. We even had a partner so we could help each other. The best thing is that we made twenty-one blankets!

Eagles

By Celyn

We have been watching eagles and their eggs. Sometimes we see the eggs when they switch to get food. And, eagles were almost extinct. Once there was a bag in the nest. Eagles only live in some places.

Email Pals

By Isabella

We have email pals at a Catholic school in Toledo, OH. They sent us an email first, then Ms. Iten read it to us. They said they liked a game called Top-It. We didn't know what that game was so we wrote them back and asked what it was and how to play it. They haven't answered us yet. They are fun to write to and hear from.

Talent Show

By Jack

Our school had a talent show. Our class did a line dance. We had lots of practice. Some people were nervous, some weren't. Some people in our class did their own, even our principal did one! Eighth grade was so funny! Everyone had a spectacular time at the talent show.

Talent

In January, Mrs. Staurovsky and Mrs. Schoeling came to help us learn a line dance that Ms. Iten learned at one of her workshops. We did our dance to "Me and My Gang." One of our favorite moves was the John Travolta move! We had a lot of fun doing it!!! Then we performed it for Catholic Schools Week!
